KG Archives V2.1

KG Archives Version 2.1 is released. This version is written without the SAJAX backend added in the version 2.0. It now has the options to categorized, show all or current month initially and exclude categories. The resulting code now validates as valid XHTML and somewhat sematic.

Installation

  1. Upload kgarchives.php to your /wp-content/plugins folder.
  2. Activate in your Admin panel’s Plugins menu.
  3. Create a page with a page slug of “archives” (This can be anything. See readme.txt).
  4. Write <kgarchives />. (See readme.txt for options)

    Nice plugin!
    It works fine in my pages with the code you mentioned above
    However, i would like to add the archives in one of my posts, which doesn’t seem to work…
    Any idea which code i should place inside a post to make the archives work there?

    I have installed per directions in a Post.
    Post appears in the sidebar as
    “ARCHIVES
    March 2006″
    I click on March 2006, I see a
    “http://adkins9.net/mercy/?m=200603″
    and everything goes back to the previous view (no joy.)
    However, when I go to the Dashboard/Post/View I see
    “http://adkins9.net/mercy/?page_id=6″
    and I see the archive comes up fine.
    Assume I’m an idjit, and tell me what I’m doing wrong.

    @Carey:
    Do you have any plugin that make your pages static? Like wp-staticize or wp-cache. They do not work well with kgarchives because whenever you change the value in the dropdown box, it will load the staticized content so you get the same result everytime.

    Or if you do not have the above plugins installed, try to deactivate other plugins and test. It works perfectly here on my blog’s archives with no further configuration.

    Hi there. I’ve been using your great plugin for some time now but thought it would be best to upgrade to use the “current” month feature as my blog has well over three hundred posts now.

    I have it up and working; put the code in the page like stated in comment #19 and #20; it displays the current month correctly but when I select another month or all the page just displays the current month again.

    What am I doing wrong?
