Firefox on Windows

ShortStat has reported that apart from the web bots, most visitors of this site uses Firefox. Roughly 85% of the visitors of this site uses Firefox. Only 10% uses any variant of IE. 5% of the remaining uses either Safari or Opera. Their OS of choice? 90% of the visitors uses Windows while 9% uses Mac and the 1% are on Linux/BSD.

The statistics translates to the increase usage of Firefox as the browser of choice by the visitors of this site, and as a subset, blog readers. Not only on this site, I have read other blogs that reported Firefox users comprises majority of their reader. It is actually good news. This only shows that heavy internet users such as bloggers and readers alike are already aware of the security issues that using IE carries.

I, myself, preferred to use Firefox as my main browser - using only IE to check how my design look on it. This is due not only to the fact that website look much nicer in Firefox but also because of its tabbing feature. Now everytime somebody I know who buys a new computer, I quickly suggest that they download and install Firefox and Thunderbird (Mozilla’s email client) right away.

I suggest the Firefox+Thunderbird tandem ot everybody I know, too.

If Mail.app and Safari weren’t so incredibly good, I’d use them on my Mac, too. :)
