Magic: The Gathering
I am reminiscing the days when I was still playing this card game from Wizards of the Coast. Those were the times when I, together with addicted boardmates, would go to tournaments. We lose on most of them.
My favorite card color is black. The build that wins me most is necropotence. It is the one which lets you and your opponent discard your hand and get a new set every turn. It’ll win over most build except blue’s Stasis build which is the opposite, they lock both players down.
At first I thought I would learn real magic, really. I started right after the release of Ice Age edition where Necropotence, the card and the build, was introduced. I luckily got necro in the starter pack. Reading the card ability first made me think of it as another worthless card. The rage then was red cards with all those fire and bolts. Reds kill the fastest. They usually deal damage very early. Green and white’s ernham-geddon is the favorite of most players. The green and white combo is a consistent winner. It has balance. It has good offense and defense.
But alas, I sold my favorite black deck. From then on, I played less and less. I still have some cards lying around the house, mostly worthless cards.

magic: the gathering was indeed very addictive. i used to join tourneys and trading “rare cards” which are very pricey almost emptying my cash savings. my favorite deck during that time was the stasis and the discarding (blue and black combination) decks (which later on banned the mind twist).
i stopped playing the game when someone stole my complete 3rd edition including some of the antiquities and unlimited versions.
