Reality TV shows
I am beginning to watch reality tv shows. Watched an episode of the Apprentice last night. Seems worthy to blog about.
Who will win in Amazing Race 8: Family Edition
There is no way of telling who will definitely win the Season 8 of the Amazing Race dubbed as The Family Edition. Previous race winners was rumored (and was proven) to have been predicted by the outcome of wagers in an online gambling site. But how do these bettors knew where to place their money? My answer is I don’t know but I can tell you how I have chosen my winning team.
Each one of us has his/her own favorite team. I based my choice on the team members personality, physical and mental ability in tackling challenges. I do not cheer for arrogant teams. Ironically, I wanted the two ex-Survivor contestants, Rob and Amber, to win even though Rob is somewhat an airhead. Yes, I did. Maybe because Rob knows how to ask directions. Going to unfamiliar places around the world, asking directions and getting a desirable result is one of the key to winning. Rob is also a negotiator. I was amazed every time he manages to talk his way in airport terminals and getting the best flight route.
But there is this something called luck. I guess Uchenna and Joyce was just very lucky. With no money on the last leg and eventually winning the race and the $1 million prize, I’d say it was pure luck. But, then, prediction of the online gambling sites proves otherwise. Or is there something that we, the viewers, do not know.
Amazing Race 8: Leg 1 Winners
The Godlewski sisters who are seem to be having fun while on the race wins the first leg of Amazing Race 8: Family Edition. They were the first to check in the leg’s pit stop. They got a $20,000 bonus for winning the leg. The rumored gambling sites favorite Linz family landed ninth just ahead of the eliminated Black family.
The $20,000 bonus that the Godlewski sisters got can be a big help in the next legs. Previous seasons of Amazing Race shows that having more money to spend makes racing a bit easier - taxis, anyone. It does not assure winning the race, though. During the Amazing Race 7, Rob and Amber lost the $1 million prize money to Uchenna and Joyce.
Enhancing K2 sidebar
I am modifying this K2 sidebar to show in all pages. The default is it’s only displayed on the frontpage.
Amazing Race 8: Leg 1
The Amazing Race 8: Family Edition has officially begun. Leg 1 of the race started in New York City. The ten teams were given their initial cash except for airline tickets. They then dashed towards their bags with their first clue before driving a GMC Suburban to their first challenge.
The Gaghan family leads early in the race. The Godlewski sisters seem to have fun driving around NYC. The Paolo family looked lost. But in the end, it was the Black family who are the first to be booted out from the race.
I am beginning to like the Gaghan family. But I’m terribly sorry for the Blacks. Watching them struggling to paddle the boat, I knew they are going to be booted out on the first few legs.
Amazing Race 8 Possible Winners
It’s too early to tell who’s going to win. I haven’t seen the first race of the series yet but there are already speculation around the internet on who’s going to win the $1 million prize. The rumor is based on the heavy wagers put on a team in online gambling sites. The speculation is fueled by the fact that previous races’ outcome was predicted by these gambling sites.
What family gets the most wagers as of this time? The Linz Family from Cincinnati, Ohio gets all the bets.

ADHD or Autistic
My youngest daughter still doesn’t speak more than two words and has only 3 words in her vocabulary - Papa, Mama and Yaya. She is one year and seven months old. She is fast approaching the milestone age of 2 years old where if she still doesn’t have 50 to 100 words in her vocabulary and can’t say a complete sentence, she might have a speech defect.
Sometimes when she is being called, she doesn’t pay attention. If being taught, she doesn’t listen. Once in a while she does follow orders like “give toy to papa” or “flying kiss to papa”. Does she have ADHD or is she autistic? Her pediatrician whom I consulted during a scheduled vaccination/immunization thought otherwise. She suggests I’ll have my child examined and referred somebody close to home. In the meantime, my wife and I are taking extra effort teaching her learn to speak.
Contemplating another theme change.
Wife reads blog
I caught my wife reading my blog. Poking around my archives presumably in search for something fishy. Suddenly, I feel uncomfortable. Not that I have something illicit here. I’m just not comfortable, that’s all.
I don’t know what’s in me that it’s ok for me for other people to read my blog and all its spelling and grammatical errors but feel uncomfortable when someone dear to me does the same. Maybe it’s because life partners are our ultimate judge. Anyway, Hi Hon!!! Hope you had a great time.
