Rebooted and Renamed
This post is to let the CSS rebooters who are visiting here on November 1, 2005. The CSS Reboot day. CSS transformation for this blog is complete. And with it a change of name. What used to be oversimplistic is no more. This blog is now what it is - a personal blog of Kates Gasis. So why not call it katesgasis.com.
Though it will no longer be known as oversimplistic, the design still adhere’s to my principle of making things simple and uncomplicated. This is a blog site so give visitors what they came for - the content. The content remain the same as before. It is only the look and the name changed. There is no screenshot of what this looked like before but if you happen to be familiar with Wordpress themes, this had a K2 theme from binarybonsai.com. BTW, CSS reboot or no, this site changes skin almost monthly. But all that is going to change. Oki doki. Move on.
Halloween Party
France and I got an invite - a free ticket to be precise - to a halloween party at one of the hottest place to hangout in town. People are encouraged to come in halloween costume. Those who have tickets are allowed to enter in plain clothes. That could have been fun. Instead we went playing badminton. We are shunning activities that involve drinking and smoking. Sure, we could’ve enjoyed the party, if we are couple of years younger.
What concerns us more now is how our two kids would look like in their halloween costumes. Max is with her grandpa in Roxas City while Margo was left here with us. Max brought her fairy godmother costume with her. Margo, supposedly, was going as thumbelina but wasn’t able to make it to the party. We had lunch on one of the “lolas” birthday party.
Blogger Holiday
So bloggers actually take vacations during holidays. There is slow down in blog postings in blogs I read both local and overseas. Even probloggers had to take a weekend off. I am expecting that technorati will be hit with massive blog posting about the bloggers’ recent vacation.
I’ve spent my weekend with my family. Me and France did a little shopping. There are no plans for travelling far from home this All Souls Day. France is going to report to work on Nov. 2 having only Nov. 1 to rest. She reported to work today. Instead, we are going italian. Pizza and pasta cooking the whole day.
Ang Panday SEO Experiment: Positive Results
The Ang Panday SEO Experiment of Marc yielded postive results on major search engines 5 days after the site went online on October 26, 2005. It is now ranked 1st and 2nd in Yahoo and Google, respectively, for the “ang panday” keyword. Furthermore, when using the “panday” keyword, it ranked 4th and 5th in Yahoo and Google.
The experiment is hosted in blogspot/blogger. What I’m afraid of is that spam bloggers intensifying their effort more on creating splogs in blogspot knowing that they can actually get goods results in SERPs by employing SEO techniques used by Marc. Anywho, SEO really work and here’s your proof.
Everybody on Halloween Vacation
I guess almost everyone now are on their way on their halloween vacation. Having 4-5 days of no work mean only one thing, more time to enjoy. Slow weekend for blogosphere. Expect tons of post after the holiday.
How much is your blog worth?
This has become sort of a meme. Blogs left and right are putting up how much their blog is worth. Dane Carlson has this cool app which calculate your blog worth. Well, if someone is really going to buy this blog based on the generated price, I would be glad to sell it.
On second thought, I wouldn’t.

It seems that Smart Communications is a little lax on monitoring their network. Tons of nude pictures can be found in their subsidiary’s Addict Mobile blogging service called Addict Mobile Blog.

I didn’t know how popular poker in Philippines until I found this site. They are actually playing poker. And the pot money is no joke either.
Child doing well in preschool
I’m glad to hear from Max’s teachers that she is doing well in school earlier during the school’s PTC (Parent-Teacher Conference). According to them, she is very responsible and act like a big sisters to her younger class buddies. She is more inclined to art. I’m happy to know she’s going to be in junior class next year. Ah… the joy of being a parent.
Ang Panday SEO Experiment
Marc over at macalua.com has just launched his new experiment on SEO techniques by creating a blog about a local Philippine TV show Panday. His site Ang Panday will go head to head with another blog of the same name about the same show.
Marc Macalua, for those who haven’t heard of him, is the top guy in SEO Philippines yahoo group. This will be a good way for him to show everybody how to build a good search engine optimized site for a good search engine ranking. I’m putting a link on my sidebar to his Ang Panday site. I normally charge for something like this on my sidebar, but I’ve learn a lot from him on his macalua.com site.
