Jollibee phases out Yum Burger

“I’m sorry sir, Yum Burger meal is not available you can try our Yum with cheese.” That’s fairly routinary in Jollibee outlets I visited after the New Year.

It’s unfortunate that Jollibee has to phase out their Yum Burger line of burgers. I am a big fan of Jollibee’s and I make it to a point to eat there whenever I’m faced with fastfood choice. I’d pick Jollibee everytime if I have to choose between it and McDonald’s.

Is is this a ploy to force consumers to spend more? Hell, why can’t they have Yum burgers if they can offer the same - only with cheese. Maybe they’ve done some study where customers prefer the one with cheese than the plain one. Oh sure, it’s just like saying that survey says most people think GMA didn’t cheat in the last presidential election.

Another thing that pisses me off is that when I decide to order something cheaper, say, pies, I get the same response, “it’s not available at the moment”. A classic example of Parokya ni Edgar’s “Ordertaker” song - meron ngang menu, wala namang ma-order.

More free wares

Hi-tech heavyweights forecast more free wares via Internet. Good then. Let them come. Did they say “internet”. ‘Wasn’t this the case a long time ago?

Love text messages

Another reason why text messages shouldn’t be use for courting. Maybe text messages shouldn’t be used in a relationship at all. It tends to ruin it.

Newsvine

The more I use Newsvine, the more I’m liking it. I found it to be a one stop shop for my online news-reading needs. It doesn’t just give me news but also worthy blog items. Too bad, currrently it is only by invitation.

In a short span of time that I have use Newsvine, I came to like it because it got all those cool webapps merged into it. Newsvine is Slashdot, Digg, del.icio.us, Google news, a blog and a forum rolled into one. Think about malls. You’d hardly go out to look for something else. But then again, next month something cooler will arrive.

Hacking with VOIP

Yahoo reports that hackers can hide behind VOIP due to “a security flaw in Internet-telephony applications that could enable hackers to cover their tracks while launching massive denial-of-service (DoS) attacks”. Now hackers don’t have to create ways for intrusion, we gave it to them on a silver platter.

Be a Copyblogger

In my quest to become a better blogger, stumbled into this blog about copywriting or copyblogging - if you will. Copyblogger teaches “how to sell with blogs and rss”.

How to do what you love

How to Do What You Love is Paul Graham’s latest article. It’s so timely that it hit me so bad tears seem to roll down my cheeks. At least I can say I do love what I do now.

No to GPL3 for Linux

From Yahoo, Linus Torvalds says no to GPL v3 for Linux. This draft of GPL v3 prohibits the use of GPL-licensed software from implementing DRM copy-protection systems.
