Akismet false positives

Akismet is the only one standing between this blog and the spammers. I used to have Bad Behaviour installed together with Akismet but removed it when it seem that Akismet can do the job alone. It’s only now that I realized that I can not trust everything to Akismet. There has been one or two spam comments that gets through Akismet everyday. Also, I have recovered one legitimate comment in the midst of phentermine selling spams. I was thinking I shouldn’t but something tells me to weed through that spam comments waiting to be sent to spam-comment-hell.

What would happen if, even for just under a minute, Akismet’s server goes down? Spam comments will feast on this blog. I think I should enable Bad Behaviour again. Just to back it up. Or better yet, moderate all comments.
