CSS Reboot Spring 2006
I signed up for CSS Reboot two months ago. I really did not have time for a redesign so I just quickly changed my CSS file a couple of days ago. Everything was the same. The template was not changed except for an added div.
I should be putting this up on monday but I won’t be here so I rebooted early. Not bad for less than 2 hours of CSS coding. It shows I really did not put some thought on it, it’s too flat. I’ll just add some color when I have the time.

Meebo and Opera
On my work PC, I’m shying away from apps that uses too much memory. The first one I dropped is Firefox. It’s too damn demanding. I switched to Opera. Yahoo Messenger is the next one to go. YM hoards memory even when minimize to tray. I was betting on meebo to take over YM, too bad meebo doesn’t support Opera as of the moment. Good thing there’s Gaim. I’m now enjoying extra 50mb of memory.

Linux in External HDD
My friend is selling his 3.5″ HDD enclosure cheap. I am thinking of having a linux installed in an external HDD as I have an extra unused HDD lying around. Partitioning and dual booting from my notebook is not an option. I just have too many important files in there I’m not willing to risk losing. Not to mention France also uses it and god knows what she has in there too. I’m no good at installing linux distros. I toasted a hard drive once and I don’t plan of doing that again.
Anyway, I’m deferring the idea until I convince myself I really need a separate install. I’m quite happy with my Debian installed inside a VMWare Player. Here is the link where to get a good external HDD linux installation guide in case I decide to go ahead.

Red Hat Acquires JBoss
A super open source company is formed by merging JBoss and Red Hat.This is good news although I’m a Debian guy. Since I rekindle my affair with Java, specifically on web development, I am thinking twice on using JBoss due to the rumor they will be acquired by Oracle.
