Edgy Eft Laptop
I hope to say goodbye to laptop freezing/lockups after upgrading to Ubuntu 6.10 or Edgy Eft last Sunday. Dapper Drake was the most unstable OS for my laptop. It would normally freeze just after login or when you’re in the middle of something. After 3 days with Edgy, I have yet to experience a freeze.
Upgrading took me the whole day. The process was smooth except for the missing Kate editor, Apache webserver and a broken PHP5 config. All that was easily fixed with apt-get –purge command.
One thing I like the most with Edgy, it boots faster.

Somebody asked me if I am a photographer. I am not. Just somebody with a camera and actually use and having fun with it. I don't care how the photos will turn out. I capture what fancies me.

- Terminal theme for Mac OS X
For somebody who's on Mac OS X, hasn't gotten used to Textmate and uses Vim for development, I love the IR Black terminal theme together with IR Black vim color scheme.

i recently upgraded my hoary installation to dapper and now edgy is available.. awww crap
anyways, is edgy really worth the download ?

To some it broke their Wifi. In my case my problem with random freezing in dapper went away. I haven’t tried my wifi yet. My integrated card reader is not functioning but it was already that way even with breezy. I don’t have an immediate need to fix it yet.
All in all edgy seem faster than previous ubuntus.
