Using Zooomr
I’m using Zooomr as my photo repository in kates.gasis.net. I was supposed to be using Flickr if not for their cap on the number of images to display. I’ve max out Flickr’s 200 pictures limit for free account a long long time ago.
Back to Zooomr. Zooomr’s monthly upload limit for their free account is more than double that of Flickr. At 100 MB monthly upload bandwidth it’s good enough for trigger-happy, less-than-amateur point-and-click photographer like me. I don’t deserve to be called a photographer, but for lack of terms to grasp right now, I’ll leave it at that.
Like I said, Flickr’s cap on number of photos that can be displayed sent me to try out Zooomr. Regular folks with a point and click camera are in it for photo album type app that will show off their entire collection to family and friends. If you ever attended a town fiesta in some not so remote provinces of the Philippines, you know what I’m talking about. They plan to show their entire collection, not just the recent 200 photos they took. We Filipinos are just too nostalgic.
The only thing missing with Zooomr right now is their API. Maybe it’s just me not finding it. And also, maybe they could make a Zooomr badge like what Flickr did early in their existence. That was viral. Everybody wanted one.
