KG Archives Updated to Version 3.0
KG Archives is updated to version 3.0 to be compatible with WP2.1 (Ella). Head over to the download page to grab the version 3.0. Just replace kgarchives.php in your plugins folder.
Sideblog Plugin Updated to Version 3.6
The Sideblog Plugin version was bumped up to 3.6 to be compatible with WP2.1.
Upgraded to WP2.1 RC2 for Plugin Testing
Just upgraded to WP2.1 RC2 to test my plugins. It seems that theyr’e still working without any modification. The Sideblog and KG Archives plugin I use here is the same as the downloadable versions. Anyways, just send in any problems you may encounter.
Festive Mood
From where I am, we are having festivals left and right. Iloilo City will be celebrating Dinagyang Festival 2007 starting tomorrow. We celebrate this every 4th week of January every year. Highlights on saturday and sunday next week. This is the time when parties are thrown everywhere.
It’s not only Iloilo City that experiences the festive mood. Our neighbors celebrate their own unique festival. Actually, in Iloilo, I get this feeling during the first half of the year. Next month towns all over Iloilo province will start celebrating their patronal fiestas. This continues until the month of May.
I would love to have fun. But there are things to do. There’s work. We’re launching another site, another tool. There’s family. The kids are growing up. They’re getting more demanding in terms of attention. There’s this blog to update. There’s a plugin to upgrade.
Habari
Most of the people who got me into Wordpress early on the popular blogging tool’s life are developing now Habari. Owen Winkler, Chris J. Davis and Michael Heilenman got me hooked on developing on wordpress.
I created my first plugin reading Owen’s blog. My archive plugin was an idea I got from Chris and Shawn. Contrary to what other people say, I find Michael’s Kubrick them easier to work with and extend. All my previous themes and those I have created for my clients was based on Kubrick. I have a lot of respect for these guys. They’re really brilliant as with rest of the Habari team.
I see a lot of potential with Habari. I have only seen the code today from SVN. It’s time to get familiar with a new set of codes again.
Admin On My GMail Contacts
When I opened my GMail this morning there’s somebody called Admin in my Quick Contacts. I didn’t remember adding somebody named Admin before. This is the third time I saw this entity. I’m starting to worry. Is this person snooping? I don’t know if this is a official way to fix problems in GMail or GTalk but if it is, this is one big concern for privacy. Was my machine compromised? Was my GMail account compromised?
I tried chatting but got no reply. Here’s the screenshots.
Drupal And Wordpress Release Updates On Same Day
I use both Drupal and Wordpress and I usually update/upgrade when new releases are out. Today, their releases coincide.
Meme: 5 Things About Me
This is a bit late. Migs tagged me three days ago. One reason was the crippling internet connectivity by my DSL provider. Another was I can’t think of 5 things about me that would get anybody interested. Here are the best I can think of for now.
- I drink lots of liquids except water and alcoholic beverages - I was like this ever since. I can consume the biggest bottle softdrinks companies put in grocery store in one sitting. 2.5L softdrinks? Keep ‘em coming. Total daily water consumption: ~1 glass
- I went to law school and nursing school - I thought I was going to be a lawyer. I quit on my third year. Then I thought I’d earn wads of cash by becoming a nurse. Again, I quit on my third year. That’s whole lot of time wasted not counting the years I spent in a crappy computer school. Total years wasted: 8.
- I hate sleeping - My head aches when I sleep more than 8 hours. My ideal length of sleep: 6 hours.
- I can’t write legibly - And with the advent of keyboards, it’s getting worse. I beginning to lose ability to read my own handwriting.
- I have lots of gay friends - I’m not gay (I’m sure of it) but I enjoy their company. They’re fun to be with. Always have gay friends since high school.
