I've already experience a couple. I guess this is what we get with cheap shared hosting. But in the case of hostmonster, I can live with flaws as they give me more freedom/space/bandwidth than conventional shared hosting providers. I think hostmonsters downtimes are a result of scheduled server maintenance because I usually experience them around the same hour each time. Also hostmonster aggressively cache your pages so sometimes when their server restart due to maintenance, it will inadvertently load an outdated version of the site. I just log in and do a little update (like blog posting) to refresh the cache. No data is actually lost. In conclusion, hostmonster is pretty much like other shared hosting providers only they're a notch higher with the feature. I went for the big disk space as an online backup for my photos.
