I’ve tested Sideblog and KGArchives to be compatible with my WP2.3 test install. I will be upgrading this site tomorrow to the latest release candidate for live testing. After which, I’ll list Sideblog and KGArchives as WP2.3 compatible in the WP2.3 plugins compatibility page.
As long as I’m using WP, be rest assured that these plugins will be updated to the latest WP release unless WP incorporates similar features in the core as what happened with UTW rendering it obsolete.
I happened to browse the WP plugins compatibility page and it seems that some plugins I’m currently using are missing from the compatible list. That could pose a problem but not as critical as Sideblog. They’ll likely be disabled until their authors update them.

Hi!
I have upgraded to WP 2.3 and Sideblog up to 4.1
Now happens one little (old) Bug when using no widgets:
php sideblog('slug');produces the correct article but also the error message “Aside category not selected. Please provide a category slug if you’re using non-dynamic sidebar.”.Category was checked under options…
Normaly I’m using two line of code for two different categories. In this case only the newest article appears double :/
You can see this on the right sidebar of my blogs under “Randgedanken”.
Hope you can fix this and thx for this nice plugin so far

Kates,
I’ve been using Sideblog since I’ve been using WordPress. It’s my favorite plugin. I tried 4.3 but it broke my site and gave me an error message. So I switched back to 4.2, which worked. But there was a problem, it breaks static pages. They just show up as a 404 message. I’m positive it was the Sideblog plugin because when I deactivated it my pages worked fine. I wasn’t sure if this had been brought to your attention yet.
Thanks

Hi.
I’ve upgraded to 2.3 and sideblog (great plugin, btw!) to 4.3. But there’s a bug here. My pages are missing when the plug in is activated. I mean, I can see the pages on the manage>pages menu, I can edit then, but when I go to view, the texts and photos are gone.
any idea?
thanks
jg

Kates,
I have similar problem with Ja Guim. When I activated sideblog4.3, my post are gone to sidebar where I put that code. The posts also can’t display on archive page.
What should I do?
Thanks.

Ja Guim, Arifin
I committed an update. Please download it again from wordpress.org/extend/plugins/sideblog.

Hi, is it any way to put just some of the post content? (like a small preview)
October 8th, 2007 at 9:32 pm
Michael,
Do you mean excerpts? Just use %excerpt_20% (change 20 to desired word length) instead of %content%.

I was using an older 3.x version of Sideblog several months back. I thought I remember it having multiple widget instances. Am I thinking of another plugin?
January 25th, 2008 at 4:36 am
Never mind, I remember now. You specify additional categories for additional widgets. Thanks for updating this for 2.3. I’m making a donation!
