Testing by RSpec

RSpec is turning me into a test freak. Code testing is starting to be fun exercise. Luke Redpath wrote a great intro to using RSpec and BDD.

Cowards

Somebody attacked me on this blog but didn’t have the balls to leave their name nor the url to their blog. I don’t go around hitting anybody anonymously that’s why I have my rants here. From a different perspective, any attacks are welcome. Just no profanity of any sort.

DynDns, Subversion, Capistrano

Created an account with DynDns and port forwarded the router to pc. The pc will act as SVN server for deploying application to servers using capistrano. The Speedtouch 511e ADSL modem which has a builtin router/firewall/dhcp was configured as a bridge while my 4port Edimax router do the grunt work. Got to keep the default settings for 511e somewhere in case I need to revert back to a simpler setup in the future.

Using iG:Syntax Hiliter

I’m using iG:Syntax Hiliter plugin to prettify code blocks. It uses square ([]) brackets so I had to modify the plugin a bit to accommodate <code></code> blocks.

Blog spammers using tinyurls

I’m being bombarded by spammers using tinyurl.com. Will they cause tinyurl to lengthen eventually?

Best Ruby on Rails vs Others video

Rails Envy released yet another hilarious video: Ruby on Rails vs Coldfusion. This is the best so far. Even better than the PHP series. On the othe hand, while playing with Flex I found out that Flex usually use Coldfusion for the backend. And they should be.

I won in ProBlogger $54,000 Birthday Bash

No, not the $54,000. I wish I did. But I was one the the winners of the first giveaway from ProBlogger: Aaron Wall’s Seobook. Maybe through the book I’ll eventually get the $54,000.

It was so easy really. All I did was leave a comment and wait. I didn’t even intend to join as I was taken to Problogger from another blog. As far as I know winners cannot enter subsequent birthday bash contest except for the major prize which is still unannounced yet.

This is a chance to dust off my SEO hat or whatever was left of it. If I may say, I failed miserably in SEO. Not that I totally sucked at it. It was rather due to a shift in focus. I have chosen to be a programmer instead.
